Paint Color Codes is an independent reference for manufacturer paint colors: name, code, hex, RGB, Lab, Light Reflectance Value, undertone, and the nearest colors from every other brand in the catalog.

Why it exists

Every paint manufacturer publishes its palette, and every one of them publishes it differently - a spreadsheet here, an Adobe swatch file there, a fan deck page somewhere else. Comparing a color across two brands means opening two formats and eyeballing the result.

This site takes those published files, converts every color the same way, and puts the result on one page. Because every color goes through the same conversion, the numbers are comparable: a cross-brand match here is a measured color difference, not a guess.

How it is built

What it is not

It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any paint manufacturer. Brand names, color names and color codes are the trademarks of their owners, used here to identify the colors they name.

It is also not a substitute for a physical sample. Screens vary, lighting varies, and sheen changes everything - see the accuracy notes before you buy paint.

Who runs it

A small independent project, run by one person rather than a company. There is no sales team, no newsletter, and nothing to sign up for. If something here is wrong, tell us and it gets fixed.
